If Win Me or W2K you should have modem sharing capability - configuration only needed.

You could buy a router - hardware & s'ware config - how hard depends on your exact requirements. There are some easy config things available - Webramp, Tixi, 3Com, Intel etc, some of which allow modem connections.

Me - I do it the hard way & want multiple configurations, times & protocols Deano is the Daddy when it comes to things Cisco

The internet connection is part of a LAN - my office is in a serviced office suite and I have 1 connection coming into my office. Would this make a difference??

Talking

Copy the TCPIP settings for Gateway & DNS from primary PC to other. Ensure that IE/Netscape knows to connect via a Lan not dial-up on 2nd PC.

Worth a try...

Does your connection go via a Proxy elsewhere in the building (possibility). Locate (automatically) proxy settings for second PC or copy from 1st.

Try http://www.internetshare.com

We run two PCs at home and it works great. Download the free 30 trial, then if your happy pay the $49.95, about £35? Cant remember the exact figure on my bill.

It installed and configured it's self and has worked very well both here at home and on my small office network.

W98 version 2 has dial up connection sharing built in, as does W2K, not sure about ME, but I guess you would have to set it up yourself, and that may be tricky.

Good luck
