Police moan (in Northants)
Not usually one to complain about the police but something earlier annoyed me.
Driving home from work and got to the A43 round spinney roundabout.
On my way around it in the middle lane as I needed to head south on the A43 (locals will know).
In the left hand lane was a grey clio, full of young boys (with no lights on) travelling in the wrong direction from one exit to the next (lumbertubs)!
I guess they were going between bad areas.
I was stunned and also grateful nobody was in that lane.
I looked to my right and in the lane next to me was a police car, what did they do?
Nothing.

Northamptonshire Police seem to think that there is only one sort of motoring offence and that is speeding. Again, this is not a dig at the cops at the sharp end more the career minded 'yes' men and women at the top.
However in this case i feel the cops did not do their job to the best of their abilities for whatever reason.

Perhpas they could have gone after them and stopped them. Letting actions like this go is the thin end of the wedge, yobs already know that they can do pretty much what they want with impunity and little fear from the courts.
Tackling anti social behaviour is vital to try to get some respect back and cut down on what is becoming a bigger problem in Northants.
What if those lads do that again and ended up injuring or killing someone?
Maybe they made that manouver stupidly because they saw the cops and had warrants or such against them/some of them.
Maybe they did it because they can.
What message does it send out to the yobs in the car and Nicci in this case? - that the Police do not care.

The way I read is that a car was travelling in the wrong direction down a 3 lane stretch of road, which is stupid I agree. I just don't see how the Police doing a U-turn across 3 lanes and chasing some idiot the wrong way down a road would improve things!
Maybe they called for back up...

Its seems bizare that they did nothing. Do you think they saw them..?
It could be that the officers are not response trained and so can not use blues and twos
Was it a van.....they may have had a prisoner on board.
They may have been going to another job or be currently dealing with one.
May have been told not to stop the car for some reason
There are loads of reasons, but it does seem a bit strange

I was pulled over for 'Dangerous driving' ages ago, but was let off as the copper had already arrested someone and had them in the back of his motor so he couldnt do anything other than tell me off!
only took a roundabout quickly anyway!
Could of been the case... Or could of been nototious Pikeys with a reputation for kneecapping coppers!?!?
