Easiest - Asking a nice taxi man to take you where you want to go.

Cheapest - Walk

Didn't think for the life of me that the hotel website would be that helpful to be honest.

Yeah the AirFrance buses are OK and cost about €10 I think. The RER (B line) train may be a bit cheaper ~ €8 and will be faster.

One thing I've always wondered about catching a bus in a strange city. If you have never been there before how do you know when to get off??

Like any public transport, get a map and look at where you are on the line at each stop.

It's easier to get around on the Metro in Paris than on the bus. This site http://www.ratp.info/informer/anglais/index.php has all the info you'll need.

Roissybus from the airport stops at Place De L'Opera. Takes about 25-30 mins IIRC.

I have used the RER B many times from CDG and have found it quick and reliable.

Which terminal are you using at CDG? I have only used terminal 3 (Easyjet), and one of the RER platforms is walkable from that terminal. My one experience with trying to take a bus from CDG was a pain. The claim of 'pick up from all terminals' turned out not to include terminal 3, so I had to take an internal shuttle bus to get to the pick-up point. I should say that this wasn't the Air France bus. So it is worth making sure you know where you can be picked up from and how to get there from your terminal.

Enjoy Paris

Get in a taxi, mention the Olympics, buckle up and hold on tight.

I'm back

Flew into Teminal 2F. Caught the Air france Bus to Le Arc d'Triomphe which was about 3 minutes from my hotel. 12 euros each which isn't bad. The journey took about 30 -45 minutes.

Air France customer service is fantastic. Got caught in nightmare traffic on the m25 and arrived at heathrow literaly 5 minutes before the plane flew. They booked us in, took us on a short cut through customs (jumping the queue for the metal detectors) and straight onto the plane which was waiting for us witht he door open. Amazing.

The valet parking helped as we just dumped the car and ran for it

Paris a freezing and the Eiffel Tower had snow on it
