I've had a Whirlpool washer/driver for several years - It's starting to show its age now but it only let me down once, on 23 December! They looked at it on Christmas Eve and by 10.30 on the day after Boxing Day it was repaired and fully working again.

Similar albeit about five years old now. Hotpoint Ultima but not the same as that one. OK I guess, have to be careful loading it up as it doesn't take to well to uneven loads and tries to bounce around the kitchen floor. Squeaks a lot now and is generally quite noisy. Has torn clothes on odd occasions too, maybe I overloaded it, but it always seems to pick the expensive stuff or my favourite shirt / tee-shirt to wreck
Personally if I was buying another now it would be a Meile (or perhaps a Bosch). Might be much more expensive than a Hotpoint but there's a reason for that.

After 4 drums in two years I threw my Hotpoint in the skip.
Also needed new brushes every 9 months( only a few quid easy to do but still shouldnt happen on new machines. Guy in leccy warehouse said it was very common in Hotpoints.
I bought Bosch to replace it and very happy with it (or Mrs Chip is anyway )

I had a new Miele washer/dryer delivered last weekend. These things are carved out of pure marble, are quieter than a tree falling in the woods when nobody is around, and get a free 5-year parts and labour warrranty (until the end of the month). They also have a fantastic LED status display, and an illuminated drum
Got it from Apollo 2000 for less than nine hundred notes (although i did get an extra 5% off 'cos i am a valued customer). As they are build to last at last 20 years, the extra cost is well worth it
Just gotta learn all the new programs

Miele aren't cheap, but are invariably the best built. After that, IMHO Bosch and possibly AEG are the next best, and can be had for a lot less money.
When my old cheap washer died a year or two back, I decided it had to be Bosch for the next one, and went and found a deal. Manager's special or simlar, plus extra cash off for paying in full and taking it away there and then - Not much over £200 for one of their decent mid-range machines.
