Default The Brits.

Isn't it a shame that an american blew the Brits away when it came to performing. I'm talking about Prince who gave a fantastic rendition of Purple Rain.

I even thought Coldplay were nothing special considering all the hype that surrounds them.

KT Tunstall, James Blunt, that Jackson chap with the guitar, Kaisers were all very good though but not a patch on Prince.

Totally agree. There ain't much good new stuff in the main stream, there are in the unsigned area though, just depends on your tastes.

Mind you The Modern deserve a medal for reviving New Romantic / Electonica, however their female vocalist looks like Heather Locklear

I only hope Chris Martin sticks to his promise and buggers off for a LONG time.

James Blunt = rhyming slang and the new Chris de Burgh.

KT Tunstall = new Maria McKee. Who? Exactly.

You won't hear of the Kaiser Chiefs again, I reckon "difficult second album" syndrome will kill them. 5 singles already from Employment is NOT a good sign. How many times can they re-hash XTC's first two albums?

The Kaiser Chiefs are arrogant ******. Did you hear them before the brits when they get interviewed...they took the **** out of james blunt so bad. "what what, tally ho". That's the difference between them and james blunt. At least James Blunt is a decent guy, and not an arrogant **** like those eejits.

I concur....coldplay are dull as ditchwater. Chris Martin irritates me! especially with his bloody sticker on his hand! I liked 'yellow' for the first 100 odd times it was played....then it got stupid, and it's ruined them

James Blunt when doing his set looked like he was a few pennies short of a pound. Cant stand him.

Just another indication of the state of the British music industry I'm afraid. I feel sorry for James Blunt, he's an easy target, but his album is surprisingly good, it's not perfect and he's not the finished article yet, but he's far better than most of the brits rubbish. If anyone likes James Blunt's type of music I really recommend Elliott Smith, not particularly widely known, but an incredible talent, he happens to be James Blunt's favourite artist too.

I also think that Coldplay are just phoney self-indulgent bores, it's very sad that so many people can't see past the mainstream rubbish that's out there.

They are really good to see live.
(Kaiser Chiefs)

They're the second worst band I've ever seen live, behind Deleriou5 (scared the poo out of me with all the hands up to god)

James Blunt is original, and an extremely talented guy and Kelly Clarkson is good, I enjoy her music.

Thanks for the Elliott Smith thing, will check out some of his music. Check out Jason Mraz (he's supporting Blunt in the UK, and Blunt supported him in the US)...his stuff is certainly very original, with lots of twisting fast lyrics which just seem to fit, and an amazing voice.

check him out here...

Makes me laugh when people accuse james Blunt of being "manufactured" etc.

Self-written songs about 1st hand experiences of witnessing genocide in Kosovo is hardly the stuff of pop idol.

And of course your music can only be good if you're a semi literate retard with an inability to be understood outside the council estate you were bought up on. Heaven fobrid you should speak properly and do something with your life beyong slouching round on street corners.

Had to laugh when Chris Evans tried to be funny with a remark to Boy George about the 'drugs' incident - you could have heard a pin drop.

Yeah cause his hit single "Your Beautiful" really was a hard hitting song about the Kosovo people wasnt it, as was his other Singles Ive heard. These alone have given me the strength to avoid his album.

Not at all, I like David Gray, good music, a little more upbeat, I wouldnt say James Blunt is original at all IMO, just a dull man with dull character and dull music with lyrics that just dont make any sence sometimes just words that fit.

People are very quick to jump on the 'David Blun't sh*t' band wagon. Maybe listen to his album before you form judgement.

James Blunt is definitely not manufactured. He has more of a 'wooden' vibe going on.

For the last time nobody has said hes manufactured.

And why should I go buy an album when Ive heard 3 or 4 of his songs that just dont impress me enough, there are many more songs Im hearing that Id rather be tempted to buy an album.... Id be broke in a month if I bought every album out. Out of interest, how many songs are on his album?

I was a bit sceptical about James Blunt having only heard his singles, however I bought my girlfriend his album for Christmas and it is very good. The song No Bravery is about Kosovo, just because he has written a couple of songs about his time in the army doesn't mean every song is about Kosovo! This is just the typical give James Blunt a hard time attitude because he's a bit different.

You're Beautiful is about an ex g/f he saw on a train.
