Default N70, TomTom GPS

Was considering buying the GPS add on for use with my N70, there are loads on Ebay for about 60 quid, are they any good, they claim to be 32 channel but I have no idea what that means.

Any suggestions (other than buy a road atlas).

channels refers to the nuber of sats it can lock onto and triangulate data from.

only problem is,,, youve got a tiny screen, ifeally you need a 3.5inch screen to see clearly & accuratly

Software seems pretty buggy on the N70's at the moment

The software is actually very good on the N70 when it works. I have one with a silvershield bluetooth GPS or something - Got it off ebay for about £35 and it works well.

There are problems with the tomtom software though - It looses its GPS signal after a varying amount of time - It appears to be when you are running points of interest. Apparently if you turn them off it is much more reliable.

The problem used to be worse on my old phone with an older version of firmware - The phone used to need turning off and then back on to function properly and you know how long they take to reset.

The later version of firmware seems to only require a reset of the software which is better. I am hoping that tomtom and nokia resolve the issues as it is very good - I also disagree about the screen size - When it works it is brilliant.
