Any DR's in the house? RE: Scar Tissue
Hi Guys, bit of a wierd one.
When ever I cut my self (doing a lot of decorating - so am getting frequent little cuts & grazes) - they stop bleeding & scab over normally.
After sometime after when all is healed the skin looks like scar tissue rather than returning to "normal" skin - even though the injury wasn't deep at all. Is this ok?
Should I eat a particular food type to help my body fix it's self properly?

As JB says. Probably keloid formation that is often more common in afro-carribs. Also tissue heals less well in smokers, but you don't seem to smoke that much. Not sure if any kind of nutritional manipulation may help, thats out of the realms of a simple quack like me.
Just one of those things I'm afraid!
NB As JB says this is just internet advice. SEE YOUR DR IF YOU ARE WORRIED

Go to your GP. What was thought originally to be scar tissue or a keloid on my knee is actually dermatofibroma, which very painful and very tender and is all going to be cut out in the next few weeks. (Then I really will have scar tissue!)

I've got vitiligo and everytime I cut myself the scar just turns white as the pigment in the skin gets destroyed. Got a few scars on my body from operations and it looks like someone has gone daft with a paintbrush
