As for Fife. Might it be something to do with the Forth Bridge "issue"?

Cool

Former leader Charles Kennedy resigned after admitting a drink problem; former home affairs spokesman Mark Oaten was involved in a sex scandal; and party president Simon Hughes apologised for misleading people about his sexuality.
Are there actually any normal MPs out there or have they all got skeletons in their closets????

Alcoholics
Gays
Perverts
Liers

Hello

Is there anybody, I don't believe that list is reserved for MPs?

Why would being gay or a lesbian prevent an MP from being able to their job?

Unless they are out the closet I'd say blackmail. This has happened in the past.

I'm not sure being gay or lesbian is the career buster it used to be. If they are having a gay relationship when they are married, that's a different story, but no different to if they were having a heterosexual one.

Great result. Just about their safest seat - gone...

Shows what people think about the 'King of fife' becoming prime minister.

Just watching Blair making a speech at their spring conference. I've never heard such a sustained pack of lies in my life. He is sooo out of touch and deluded it's unreal.

Talk about Nero fiddling while all around him Rome burns.

It doesn't! and it doesn't biother me in the slightest if they are but as soon as something like this comes out they have to resign whether they are good at their job or not.

No bother for Labour .............. no-one would DARE vote anything other than Labour in a PROPER election..

The Tories should be very worried, very worried indeed, to lose so badly when you have a posh new leader is pathetic.

I don't actually care what happens as long as the Tories NEVER, EVER get to destroy this country again ....... it's taking a long time to build it back but the damage was so deep that it's a tough walk, but those that walk it .. walk it.

Only when the last person who remembers the Tory mess-up dies will they ever stand a chance ..............................

Well the wife and I did our bit and voted Conservative even though it never makes any difference around here, they just put even worse lefties in - ie Lib Dems, they want to tax us into early graves

I believe in low taxation, light government and strong policing. Therefore I vote Conservative. However, our local economy is artificially propped up by an overinflated public sector with little wealth creation to feed it all.

I particularly object to paying huge taxes to fund services that are not of sufficient quality or availability so that I would have to use the private sector to get the standards I would expect.

You can debate soundness of mind all you like Mr Lewis, I am qualified to diagnose it and you are not

Well that was an amazing fallback by NL this time. 11.000 majority and they get beaten by nearly 2000 votes!

I wonder if it might ever occur to them that the electorate just don't want all this so called radical reform which is all designed to weaken our personal freedoms and give the government so much more power over the people.

It will take more than a screaming rabid activist to get over that one!
