god dam eye infection. help.
went to town on tuesday for a freinds birthday and went to the nightclub. eyes were irritated (damn smokers) and sore.
went to work yesterday and had to put up with the boss and another guys smoking and now my left eye is REALLY bad red raw, sticky and painful to open. eye drops from the chemist wont fix it and my left side of my face feels like its done 5 minutes with jackie chan.
any ideas on how to fix?
best tink so far is a big bag of ice and water on it.

whatever you do, don't rub your eyes, otherwise there is a chance of passing the infection to the other eye!! Wash your hands after touching your eye, and use separate bath linen to other people in your house. It is highly contagious.
What did the chemist give you? Brolene drops are pretty good, but you may need an antibiotic eye drop from your doctor.
It may help to gently bathe your with cool water -a piece of cotton wool will help you to do this . Clean the eye from the bridge of your nose to the outer eye.
If you wear contact lenses keep them out until the infection has gone.
Hope you feel better soon.

**** that looks sore, 16vmarc!!
PoorGuy - if you think there maybe metal in it, I'd get down to the nearest A&E to have it checked for sure - don't take chances with your sight!!
If you are pretty sure it isn't that, I'd go to the GP in the morning

Or go visit your optometrist. They have greater training on eyes than your GP. If they are a "prescribing optometrist" then they can give you a prescription to take directly to the chemist. If it requires specialist equipment to make a diagnosis then they can refer you to your nearest opthalmic clinic.
