Why do BBC and ITV try to compete
Whenever there is something particularly good on one channel the other tries to compete with something better .....
If BBC has a good FA cup game on ITV has to show a bond film or Oceans Eleven etc. Whats it all about? Surely no-one is winning? Why dont BBC win the ratings one day and the next ITV shows the film and wins. They both do ok out of it and the punters are happy too.......

Surley they have both halved their viewing audiance on the day of the BIG programme. Assuming the next day they both have something crap on, which is normal, they have both won / lost. Its just the punter who looses?

There seems to be a 'unwritten rule' that the soaps aren't on at the same time. I think this should be changed so that we really know what people prefer: Eastenders or Corrie (although we all know Emmerdale would trounce them both )
