David Lynch - Director

Kyle Machlaclan, Sting, Brad Dourif, Vigninia Madsen

In the far future, a duke and his family are sent by the Emperor to a sand world from which comes a spice that is essential for interstellar travel. The move is designed to destroy the duke and his family, but his son escapes and seeks revenge as he uses the world's ecology as one of his weapons.

Oh and if you like Dune, make sure you also have the mini series of Dune and Children of Dune. Very good indeed.

Wasn't the original post-edit version close to 4 hours long?

Love the film. Watched it nearly every weekend for a year. Come back from clubbing, mind in a different world, stick Dune on and tune out the rest of the world. Mates used to take the pee becuase I'd sit there mining the script.

Got all the books and and most of the prequels to dune (house attredies, house harkonnen etc)

the cinema release was a bit like aliens the normal version,

the dc cut filled in the gaps and answered most of the questions we were asking, it also made the aliens appear to be potentially not nice either
