Neither my wife or myself have seen an episode of the series, but with the current TV advertising for the Complete Series 1 Boxset, she mentioned that maybe we should buy it as she's only heard good things about it.

R2 prices seem to start around £43 (inc p+p) for the 8 disc box set.

R1 prices start around £32 (inc p+p) for the 7 disc box set, but there's always the chance for import tax if I bought it from the US rather than from CDWow or PlayUSA (who are slighty dearer).

All thoughts on the above appreciated.

Dave.

Personally, I'd save the money mate IMO! I thought it was good the first few weeks, but couldn't be bothered after that. Now halfway through season 2 here. Thought I'd give it another chance, watched one episode, haven't since. As far as I am aware, you only pay import tax / duty on items over 38 pounds.

I would certainly advise you not to find the torrents for series 1 on the internet and use something like bitcomet to download them before burning to DVD to watch. I would also advise againt buying them from ebay for £6 or 7 pounds.

other than the options you mentioned worth seeing if you know somebody with them so you could borrow them?

Brought it from PlayUSA, there was a mention of tax, but didn't have to pay anything.

Also it's better watching under your own steam then over 20 odd weeks, and with ad breaks every 5mins, they really get on my wick. I liked it but it's all down to personal taste.

It's your money, feel free to throw it down the pan. IMO it's the worst so called 'entertainment' I've ever had to endure. Absolutely dire.

As above matey

You SHOULD NOT do a search on ebay and pick it up for around £7 and also you SHOULD NOT get the same seller to send you episode's 1 through 10 of the second serie's

I love it,cannot get enough, but then again,i dont get out much

Hello

I like it. The episodes do go from great to somewhat boring, but overall it's a good series.

Spend your money on something more interesting like, I don't know, paint!

Slap it up on the wall and watch it dry!

Save your Money.

I could give a 30 second summary that would cover the entire first series.

**** all happens ! (infact this 1 second summary covers it )

We discussed this last week - all I could come up with is that Lost is a loose remake of chitty chitty bang bang
