Nurburgring 2006 opening dates?????
Hi all,
Trying to plan a trip over to drive the Nordschleife circuit in April, over the Easter weekend. I've been on a couple of websites trying to find an events calendar for 2006 but so far no joy. Does anyone know where I can get a calendar for 2006 or if it's open for public driving on those dates? Want to book ferries/time off from work/wife before the silly season kicks in.
Cheers

No calendar has been relaeased yet. It normally comes out towards the end of Feb, however this year it has been open all through Dec and Jan when weather has permitted.
Febs dates are already up.....

Oh right, where are you finding these dates please? Had a quick scout of www.nurburgring.org.uk and www.nuerburgring.de but so far can only see January's.

yes I had taken a look at that. Trouble is keep getting page not found when I choose a different month. No bother, not much use unless it's got April's dates. Would it be fair to say that they're likely to have it open over the long easter weekend? 14- 17th April? Or is it just pot luck?

Easter weekend is chaos, queues everywhere.
Get there about 8am and you might get a few laps in if the weathers kind, and then just pray no one crashes as that closes things for an hour and then results in yet more huge queues to get back out there...
The atmosphere is great tho. well worth a "feeler" weekend
We're looking at booking a trip just after Easter, and hoping the chaos has died down a little...

Easter weekend is when loads of newbies decide to go for the craic. They then get out on track and don't know where they're going and the inevitable happens.
Not to mention car park chaos, queues back to the last corner to get off the track, closures every hour...... It's a nightmare just like some of the more popular summer weekends.
Go the weekend after Easter and I'm sure it will be better for a newbie to get around.
