Default dog insurance

I have bought a Old English Sheepdog and i want to insure her, i want a really good insurance for her as they can have problems with there hips in later life. I really want one that pays x amount per condition per year. Anyone got any good suggestions.

Do a search for "Dogs Today" magazine, they had a really good guide a few months ago. If you are lucky they may have an on-line search facility which will enable you to review which is best.

We have two boxers which are insured with Petplan insurance, the vets recommended them too us - any claims simply ring them up, request a claim form give it to your vet and they sort the rest out, all you pay is the excess.

That said have a good look around and watch out for clauses that will not pay out for lifetime treatment etc etc.

Petplan is my best bet for you they do not restrict how many claims you have, and if the dog had an illness and needed medication for life that would be covered too, we have just got another Boxer puppy we had our last Boxer for 11 years and they always paid out with in a couple of days.

Pet plan is about the best one. I used to work for a vet and we never had an issue with petplan declining any claims. Most of the other insurers did at some point.

We have a border collie and insure her through direct line - have had to claim a couple of times in the last year and they have paid out quickly.

Cost per month isnt too bad - not sure if this will rise because of the claims - will have to wait and see she will be a year old soon.

Pet Plan gets the thumbs up from me. Have the Staffy covered by them. Never had any problems with them.

more than
We have one with a skin condition that would have cost us a fortune but the wife was saying the other day that it costs her more to insure the eldest dog than it does to insure her car for the year !!
Must admit they are very good with claims. It has paid for itself many times over through the years.
