Thanks for the input.
Anymore recommendations?
I'm specifically looking for the following types of funds
1) FTSE 100 tracker. Anyone will do but as I want to buy on line I need a name
2) A Euro fund, especially one concentrating on Germany and defo excluding the UK
3) A fund concentrating on Japan
4) A fund concentrating on China
Obviously I would like fund managers with good track records, the perforamnce of the fund so far is not so important if it is newish.
All input appreciated

You could do worse than Aberdeen Asset for yer Euro fund. They've just acquired the Deutsche Aset Management Fund range (altho they might still be marketing as DeAM funds).
I was looking at Japan and Asia ex Japan funds recently, but I needed an investment trust rather than an open-ended investment fund (like a unit trust or OEIC/ICVC), so that's a different market really. The principle is the same though, collective investment... have a look at the JPMorgan Fleming range, they've got a good number of differently focussed funds in the area.
Investment trust info is at wwwDOTtrustnetDOTcom.
If I were you, I'd swap China for India this year.

Gartmore China and Hong Kong Growth
Fidelity Japan
Fidelity South East Asia
Sectors in Money Management January 2006 include:
Far East Excluding Japan.
Far East Including Japan.
Europe Excluding UK - not many funds in this one.
If I remember tomorrow (Wed) I will put some funds up, but Invesco/Perpetual, Fidelity and Barings have given good PAST performance.

Money Management lists about 2,000 unit trust funds over 1, 2, 3, 5 and 10 year periods in comparison to the sector average, for example "Japan" sector.
It is available from W H Smith or I can post the December 2005 edition to you - let me know.
The figures are supplied/compiled by FINSTAT (Financial Times).
It gives a very clear view of what the funds have done over the past 10 years - by showing what an investment of £1,000 woudl be worth today.
You may wish to consider a fund wrap investment e.g. Skandia MultiFUNDS ISA as you can switch between different fund managers (Fidelity, Baring, Schrdoer, Gartmore etc).
Have a look at www.skandia.co.uk
My wife's Skandia ISA achieved 54% growth from 01/01/203 to 31/12/2005 and is invested in Fdelity Special Situations, Invesco Perpetual Income and Fidelity European funds.
