Making Payment To European Bank Account ?
Hello,
How would someone go about making a bank transfer to a European bank account using IBAN/BIC ?
Making a UK to UK transfer is easy using online banking (my bank is NatWest) but not sure about one of these
Cheers,
Dunk

You'll need to visit your branch and ask them about it, IIRC, last time I did this I needed LOADS of obscure numbers and codes for the foreign, (French) bank. Now I keep a copy of the form it took us AGES to fill in, so that we can copy the relevant bits and just change the figures.
Also, be careful with Gnat West........ask how much before you commit yourself, they are thieves.
I have two bank accounts, one at the Yorkshire, and one at LLoydsTSB. The Yorkshire wanted £40 for the service, LloydsTSB did it for £10.

You'll need the IBAN/Swift code for the bank plus account number and sort code together with the branch address and obviously the account name. Any high street bank should be able to sort this out for you but you can get fleeced on the exchange rate, so beware. Alternatively, if you are making regular payments you could look at buying forward with someone like Moneycorp for which you contract to purchase foreign currency at a certain rate for a given amount of time.

BTW, if you can find someone with a Euro account (assuming you're doing this in Euros) it costs them the price of a domestic transfer (and if it doesn't, that's illegal) - I sent just over €2000 to Austria, it cost me about two quid.
