Using nicotine patches to give up smoking is like drinking gin to give up a whiskey addiction.
Just stop. If you really want to, it's no big deal. You'll think about it a fair bit for the first month or to and you may wander what to do with your hands when in the pub (play with your nuts ) but stick at it.

I've given up a couple of times, once for three years, and I can't remember why I was stupid enough to start again.
Try Allen Carr, he's written a couple of books that are supposed to be very good. Try changing other habits too, like not going to the pub for a few days or doing things that you associate with smoking.
Good luck, the medical and financial benefits will be worth it!

There hasn't been one occasion so far when i've "needed" a smoke either. Breaking the habit has been tricky and at times I have really wanted one, but I haven't needed one so I didn't have one. That's with no patches or anything either. To say i'm shocked at how long i've gone would be an understatement! I honestly can't believe i've gone a week without smoking
I'm even starting to dislike the smell now. When my boss comes back in the office after a *** break he stinks of stale smoke and it's definatly not pleasent. I must say though, I prefer the smell of "fresh" smoke now that i'm not smoking. And I feel that could be my downfall
Still, we'll see what happens!
