Default Car phone sim card - where from

Looking for a gen1 sim card (o2 I think) for my 740 car phone. Go into O2 shops and they don't know what I'm on about or just say, nah mate, don't do them.

So try carphone warehouse. The name would imply they know about carphones yes? NO, they've no clue either. CRAP isn't it.

Anyone got one or know where to get them? Should I phone O2 instead (I've been told O2 is the most likely network that the phone would be locked too). Phone is GSM900, not GSM 1800 so t-mob and orange won't have them.

A standard O2 SIM should be OK. What make/age is the carphone? I doubt if an older single band phone will be locked, so Vodafone is an option too.
