Problem with Pikeys is that if you happen to **** off one group of them the whole bloody "smith" clan will turn up.

Because trespass isn't an offence on it's own, and hasn't been since (IIRC) the last Tory government. This is entirely a civil matter, but usually the bench will hand down a moving order with no problems.

Trespass is a civil offence and it always has been. The only trespass which constitutes a criminal offence, is that which takes place in Ministry of Defence land.

Your house is B&E, your land is not. If they are in the garden at night it suggests attempted burglary and the police will (hopefully) respond as such. But if you own 200 acres of land and some people camp on part of it, that in itself is NOT trespass. Mainly because there is no such thing. There is criminal trespass though, which is committing another offence whilst on someone else's land.

On the industrial estate where I work (near airport all units are aircraft hangers) there is an RAF social club, Pikeys pulled up on the land one day and set up camp. 1hr later 2 lorrys full of RAF lads turned up with 2 flatbed lorrys (the sort you put tanks on)

Now get this the Pikeys called the Police, who turned up and were promptly told to fvck off by the RAF as it was MOD land and they had no powers without the MOD's permission.

After a V/short stand off the Pikeys were told "move off or we will take your caravans and use them for bombing practice ."
