Help!!
Been in severe dental pain for 5 days now .............
I have taken so many pain killers that I can no longer see straight .....
I have had pain with Hot and Cold on a tooth for a few months - hoped it would settle, looks like its flared up now big time.
Was a thread here a few weeks ago with reference to dental pain ... what was the best pain killer???
Before I top myself!? ............. dentists aren't open until Tuesday and then theres no guarantee I will get in (I bet everyone has been pulling fillings out over the Xmas break!?)

Cocodomol TOGETHER with neurofen mate
One is paracetomol based and the other is ibuprofen to help the swelling, take 2 of each.
The best advice is to go out and do something, anything at all just to take your mind off the "pain" you big pansy.

Pete, Thanks for the Gaultier, lovely
Whiskey, on a cotton wool pad, direct onto the tooth, press on hard.
Tomorrow, when shops are open, get some "Oil of Cloves"

It's a funny thing ............ the tooth isn't hurting as such - it seems to be the gum around it/nerve as the pain shoots right up into my eye! ? I think the nerve is exposed to be honest .... think there is a hole or crack in the tooth

When you go to the dentist, make sure they do what you ask. I asked for a tooth to be completey removed and replaced after I cracked it (left rear molar). The dentist insisted that he could clear it out and cap/fill it with no issues. To date I have nerve pain every time I eat something sweet or hot or cold and press down on it hard.
Not too happy, but I never pursued it to get it fixed so can't complain too much.
I am going to get all of my wisdom teeth removed soon as they are all growing through and pressing forward against my other teeth. They are running out of antibiotics to give me every time I get an abcess and as such have advised me to get them removed instead of going through the antibiotic list again.

Aaquil who is a member on here is also a dentist and advised me to rub a bit of Sensodyne style toothpaste onto my gums every day. That certainly provided a bit of relief.

Teeth?? wtf are teeth??
seriously pete, get the scoob out, and drive round to you local chemist, on the door or window will be a list of duty chemists, and emergrency dental treatment places.
our local hospital has an emergency evening clinic, you have to pay though but they will see you if you get a slot. usually 10-15 slots an evening.
if its a hole, get some tempory tooth filing and whap it in there. get some bonjella and whack it on the gum and tooth, works wonders, and if all else fails, get down to your local a&E they may not be able to remove, but they may be able to look after the pain
Mart look at all those teeth

You might have an absess under tooth and that will be sorted by antibiotics and then dentist will look for cause like food trap area. My non-medic advice is to take some if you have any left in a drawer somewhere and if not get to A&E and I expect they will give you some. I am always getting these damn things and that is what my retired dentist wife tells me off the record. dl
