Anyone ever done it,where do i start,free software,how much webspace will i need,or should i use one of the sites that host it and accept adverts.

Advice from anyone thats ever started one would be appreciated.

In theory, as far as I understand, you could just get hosting from a cheap source and a then "borrow" a basic page layout to upload. (save a website you like to your PC, edit it to how you want it, upload it)

If you didn't want to be flash, it wouldn't have to be anything more than a basic forum or blog.

All i'd want is name,location,comment.
Anything more puts people off.
