Default Peter Kaye RIP OFF

Now maybe I didn't read the label properly but when I see a brand new Peter Kaye DVD I expect it to be different to the one I bought a year ago. Is it different? Is it bollards its just filmed at a different theatre. Thieving git, get some new material out and stop trying to cash in...........

i hadnt seen peter kaye until fairly recently, didnt think it was my kind of thing, but i really enjoyed watching him as it happens...then the other day, i read an interview in GQ with steve coogan who implied that peter kaye could be a bit difficult/bit of an **** perhaps...? i always thought he came across really well...anyone else heard this...?

I think he's cool. I can imagine he's a bit of a perfectionist. His work seems real natural but I think it's very polished. For the simple reason that as Mr Pug above said, he's released two DVDs that are very similar (three if you include the Blackpool tower one). Must mean he's got he act down to a tee.

But look at the outtakes for something like Max and Paddy and I think he must really be a bit of a laugh to work with.

James when you say similar I think you mean THE SAME ........ His third DVD the Manchester one is IDENTICAL to the Bolton one. Well it was identical up to the point that I wanted to throw something at the TV and turned it off.

IMHO he has conned me, if he was re-releasing the same DVD again it should have been in the same cover, and the same name.

Maybe i'm just stoopid, but 2 of my mates have done the same thing too ......

Having received this DVD for Xmas, I can only agree with the first post.

Sat down with the family to watch and it seemed to be a complete repeat performance of the "Top of the Tower" and "Live at Bolton Hall" DVDs.

Shame, i was looking forward to a new routine.

If you're a Peter Kay fan, you'll love Lee Evans' new 'XL' DVD - I've never laughed so hard in my life.

I got the Peter Kay DVD last month for my birthday and was watching it thinking that it all seems very familiar but I wasn't sure how, maybe I seem bit's of it TV before or had heard the jokes before on other things he has done. The extra's on the DVD made up for it a bit but I still felt cheated as I'd had most of the DVD before in some shape or form.

Lee Evan's XL on the other hand, I watched it last night and had to time my beer drinking very carefully if I didn't want to spray it all over the tv, very funny, by the end of it I was busting for a wee and nearly literally was PMSL.

It is true that his type of humour is similar on the dvd's but he is a natural comedian alright and I find him entertaining to watch. I am not interested in his personality off the stage.

dont you find though, that youd begrudge putting money in his pocket if you didnt like him personally, well as far as you could possibly know him personally...?!

Actually Les, it's more true to say that both DVD's are the same act, but at different venues

To be fair to Peter Kay though, it does say on the front covers of both the Bolton & Manchester VD's that they are from the 'Mum Want's A Bungalow' tour. So it was odds on that they'd be the same, that's why I didn't buy the new one.

But when you see it on TV and put it on your crimbo list you dont realise its the same tour and therefore the same act..........

Who else has made a DVD of the same act from different venues before?

I brought the 'new' one for the other half... and realised it was the same routine as the Blackpool tower DVD...

And as a bonus it's got the bladdy Airrrmadildo video on it....like that has been on a zillion times this year

Yes CrispDuck, I agree that the act in the new one is very similar to the others, I suppose that is just his style, and he will have to find some really different material to keep the interest going in the future.

As far as his character goes off stage Brihoppy, I really dont care that much as long as he produces the worthwjile entertainment value while he is on stage. Lot of very popular entertainers have been reputed to be pretty awful to know in private in the past.

i was very dissapointed with this DVD.

BC seemed totally uninterested and just wanted to get the show done with and get off the stage ASAP IMHO.

Quite a few of the jokes/stories I had heard before. I only laughed out loud once.

Same conclusion as me, a really really poor effort infact I will go as far as saying rubbish... I've seen him live and he can do far far better..

I'm getting into Jethro now
