I've got something very similar mounted (damn expensive those 3 way mounts!) on the wall of my bedroom, but I weighed up the options and bought a 20" 4:3 LCD rather than a 17" 16:9.... for one good reason:
When a widescreen picture is letterboxed on a 4:3 to produce a 16:9 picture, the image is bigger on a 20" 4:3 than it is on a native 17" 16:9.
Similarly, and obviously, a 4:3 picture will be MUCH bigger on a 20" 4:3 than on a 17" 16:9.
AND...
it was cheaper....!

I've just bought one of these (rlt1720 i think) and can't get the bleeding thing to work, i've plugged it into the video, dvd, ps2 and all i get is 'no signal' its driving me on the plus side though the 'no signal' screen is both sharp and in depth with amazing clarity (although i've said the same about a bottle of wine before)

Mines slightly different to yours it has the controls on top of the set, I got mine 2nd hand off ebay for £180, also after much swearing and crying i got mine working i think it was just a loose connection somewhere (either TV, Video or my brain), Pictures pretty good though
