How long would it take to drive there from the UK and roughly what would it cost with 2 people in the car? (forgetting fuel, I mean like using the eurostar etc)

Eurostar is the passenger train, you want Euro Tunnel? That will be between £100 - £150 depending on the times you choose. Check prices here:- http://www.eurotunnel1.com/direct/bo...ey.asp?lang=en
I can get to Nurburgring* between 5-6 hours normally. And will fill up once at Calais, then again at the beginning of Germany, so 2 tanks worth basically.

*P.S. Dont confuse Nuremberg with 'the ring'. From Calais I would say to get to Nuremberg would be about 7 - 7.5 hours.

If you're looking at going to Nuremburg by car I wouldn't bother as it's a bitch of a journey if you go via Luxembourg and even though there isn't a direct flight I'd still take the plane.
If you're after Nurburging then it's nowhere near Nuremburg and you'd need a car if you want to go round. I combined the two a few years ago on the way out and it was knackering.

Hoverspeed can do deals for about £50 return, but book early. When you get to the other side it should take between 5 and 6 hours. Depending on your route.
Via Belgium, Holland and Germany about 6 hours, Antwerp is a bitch at the mo, Roadworks!
Through France via Chaleroi etc about 5 hours again crap traffic can hold you up.
I can e-mail both routes if you need them.

erm, you might get the odd idiot but the amount of people who are out there for a good time to watch the football compared to trouble causers is a big difference....
Look at the turks etc if you want to talk about fighting and causing trouble at football matches, unless off course your just the average press reader.

If you're going there to watch football, then I'd have thought you'd be better off flying rather than risk your car with UK plates. After all, it's not just the UK that has mindless hooligans attracted to football is it.

thats for losers lol
Not a bad idea but couldnt be doing with sitting on a coach for 24hours driving might be the better option I think still, the car would be parked in a hotel car park most of the time Id guess so it'd be fairly safe... £138 for the eurotunnel split between 3 people is fairly cheap. just need a car that doesnt sup fuel to get us there now
