Nominate Ricard Burns for BBC award.
Not sure if he is eligible (given that he has passed on) but it's worth a try:

...........he is dead!! - I am sure the BBC will show some fitting tribute.
Although it won't be long enough for you guys, or as long as the one for George Best.

how is someone who was terminaly ill...and then dead during 2005 make "sports personality" of the year????
he didnt even do a sport during the year....in fact, i played a few telivised poker games so i deserve it more than him
I expect the BBC will do a very short bit on him considering most of the public wouldnt even know the bloke if they'd seen him. He will get some mention because of his historical success - but not because he's a "personality" which is what the shows about.

Mind you, saw SD doing a more casual demonstration at a Snooker / Pool trick shot thing. He didn't play a shot in his time, just did a stand up routine. It was actually rather good.

Go Tiggs, Go Tiggs
He's equal with Burnsie according to posts in this thread so far.
It won't do his ego any good if he gets beaten by a corpse
