As for 'what to hit', depends what you're after.
Real Ales in a real pub? Plenty of them. Nightclubs? Plenty of them, all types of music.
Late night bars to chill in? Check.
Townie pubs full of 'laydeez'? Even got those too.
And there's plenty of touristy things to do as well, if you're here during the day.

I dont know, just telling you the rumour that I was told when I moved here 10 years ago.... think it had something to do with University more than the overall population....

Hooters is worth a visit for the food alone, imho!
Oceana was good, **** knows where it is but the feds don't seem to mind you asking!
Oh and all the taxi drivers are robbing b*stards who take you on a sight seeing tour rather than the direct route!

Changed a bit since I was a student there. The "Trip to Jerusalem", a tiny pub cut into the base rock of the castle, and reputed to be England's oldest, used to be worth a visit, as did the "Salutation", and the "Flying Horse", the latter being an old coaching inn with 7 bars.........sadly now a mini mall
Alcazar
Edited to say: if you want some "bits" for the Scoob, TSL are a spit south of Nottingham.
If you want any of the Scoob's bits taken off, cheaply, park it on the Clifton estate for the night

Were you stayin ? If you havent sorted a hotel out let me no, i work in a hotel in the centre of notts and could sort you a decent price out.
Oceana has just had a massive refurb and thats were every one seems to end up at the end of the night. Hockley/lace market has loads of independent bars so its a good place to start, Brass monkey is nice and try and head to picture and piano, its a chain but its a old cathedral you will either love it or hate it but dont stay there long cuz its a rip of IMO
