Far too lenient on him. How can he say £21m profit aint fleecing us? Wonder if he'll get told off for asking his wife to take his points

To be fair, Clarkson and Ladyman could have been at each others' throats for the whole show given the chance. I think both sides got their point across quite efficiently.
The guy has 9 points on his licence and yet still defends speed cameras. What more is there to know?

In the end of the day. Clarkson has made clear what he thinks, as do the enthustiatic mortorists. I'm certain Ladyman is highly aware of their general views.
Slamming him, ridculing and making him look stupid Paxman style will only get his back up, make him defensive and more determined on his own views. And also convey more persecution to the motoring public and Clarkson from the PC lentil munchers.
Keep it civilised, and light hearted. If they wanted it to be utterly serious politics then leave to newsnight IMO.

Why don't they ditch the fixed penalty, and just hand out the points?, or make the fine a bare minumum to cover the cost of the camera?
Motorists stop moaning they are being fleeced.

Missed the opportunity to say how do speed camera's pick up faulty lights, bad driving other than speeding etc - reduce the camera's and get more damn traffic cops back on the roads..........

Another thing that nobody mentioned....the death figures have stayed pretty level for the last few years according to what was said on the show, this is despite the ever increasing number of cars on the road. So the cameras must be doing something?

Thank you Carradoboy, makes it all crystal clear now.
On another point, I think the programme last night descended into total rubbish re the "coolwall" tussle on the floor. I'm fast losing respect for the presenters and the content. Its getting sillier by the week.
Flame suit on, + running shoes.

Talking of maniacs doing daft things in cars, did anyone see that thing about drifters on M & M last night Begs the question, how many cars did they destroy learning to drive like that?
