Would be interested too, as my wife's Golf cover is up. Can you believe VW only provide a year!!!

Would like to throw the CSMA Britannia rescue in the mix too.

Hi guys

Keith Michaels Insurance (who i work for) also sell breakdown cover.

Can do a policy including home start, European cover etc for £49.50 (This is completely seperate from any insurance cover).

Ring me on 0208 6427868 (ask for Gary Moulson) for more details.

I always get mine whilst I get my insurance. It's always worked out the cheapest for the best cover for me

But who comes out to get me when I break down? what are the response times and where does the car get taken? Is it similar to the AA/RAC packages?

Just renewed with RAC quote £132 one phonecall and they gave me a 30% discount so £93.50.
Not used RAC since I had my Cossie 9 years ago. They were out to me in 20 mins. The time before that they were with me in 5. Read the small print. Some companies such as Norwich Union may not cover the cost of recovery after an accident unless you have fully comp insurance with them. You pay for the recovery and claim back from your insurer. They quoted £96 2 cars 2x personal cover.

I would use AA if they were twice the price of the idiots at the RAC.

No question... The AA are the best by far!!! My other half is "a very nice man" for those of you old enough to remember the adverts.

Wouldn't touch the like of green flag or tesco's or any of those insurance company ones with a barge pole! All they are is garageing agents, you break down and they call out the local garage to you. They make the adverts look great but don't be fooled, it's just a local garage working for them. If they fix your car at the roadside they get a fixed fee, if they have to convert it to a recovery job they get paid more!!! Mmm What would you do if it was you?? Fix or do a recovery???

The AA however use their own recovery fleet so if a job gets converted to recovery it costs the AA to do it so they always endevour to fix your car first time at the roadside!

All vehicles have Sat Nav to speed responce time, satilite tracking so the £30 million deployment computer knows where everybody is and which patrol to choose to go to which job all being transmitted by GPRS to the patrol vehicle through onboard Laptop computer which is also used for vehicle diagnostics... yep they can actually plug into the latest cars and talk to the ECU pulling off all manner of live readings via a bluetooth link back to the laptop.

To say the AA arn't keeping up with modern system would be a joke!!!! They are streets ahead of the competition, no question!!!

So in answer to your question.... Buy the best there is... Go Yellow!!! Join the AA and keep my other half busy!!!! lol

Oh it starts at £39!

PM me for possible discounts available

Cheers
Kaz

We once broke down on a country road in the middle of nowhere.
Called the AA and the conversation went like this...
AA - "Where are you, what street or road?"
Me - "No idea, I was just out for a drive but I can give you the grid reference off my GPS" (This was an early GPS and the required map was not loaded for road details)
AA - "We can't use that"
Me - "But every boy scout in the country and any muppet who can read a map can identify a location from these very accurate numbers"
AA - "Sorry, we can't use those numbers, they mean nothing to us"

2 hours later after the bloke had been driving for 90 minutes around were we last knew we'd been, they found us.
Was not impressed.

But having said that, I'm still a member as the last twice, I was attended to within 10 mins.
