Default Need a Gastro Pub - Help (kind a' urgent)

Going out for dinner with my old boss and his wife. We need to meet up half way and go somewhere nice. Unfortunately, I've got no idea where to go.

Does anyone know some good pubs between Banbury (Oxfordshire) and Aylesbury (Bunkinghamshire)? Oldy-worldy place with good beer and wine would be perfect.

Failing that - any web sites I should trawl through to find a place?

Any help - much appreciated.

go for a la'carte you can make your own menu then and spend what you want too.

I cant imagine it will be terribly expensive.

tdh in those sort of places is around £28 per person for 5 courses which is reasonable for what the quality will be like for a 2 rosette establishment.

Have you tried the Crooked Billet at Kingswood (just outside waddesdon), apparently excellent food, but not cheap.

Why so flash, are you looking for your old job back? Or do you want to **** his mrs?
