Leeds Nightlife
Visiting Leeds on Thursday for 3 nights, staying at the Park Plaza with the missus, and just looking for a couple of recommendations on bars, restaurants, etc.
Ideally, I am looking for a decent Indian for a meal on the first night and also a reasonably upmarket italian/modern english restaurant for another night. Thinking of eating at the hotel on one night, as the restaurant there looks pretty good too.
Also any bar/pub recommendations appreciated.
Cheers.

Bibis is a nice Italian that is just around the corner from where you are staying. Depending on your music tastes/ age etc then for bars you will probably want to head arounf greek street or down by the Corn exchange. Avoid all the bars near Yates, Square on the lane etc.

The Aagrah has just opened up a new Indian restaurant next to the Playhouse. Fab grub in their other branches. As for bars, couldnt tell you, I only usually see them through a haze!

I used to spend a lot of time in Leeds on business. It has what I personally think is one of the best restaurants in the world ( do not wish to start a debate, just giving personal info). It is an Italian restaurant called Bibi's.
VERY popular, has moved location since I was last there, and not possible to book a table. Just turn up and wait. Fabulous choice, quality and atmosphere. Used to be common to see LUFC players, emmerdals "stars" and even once Noel Gallagher!

As for Indian, if you want a REALLY good indian, Akbars gets my vote, even though it is in Bradford. Well worth the trip over though! (It's only about 12 miles).

For bars, I'd go to Greek Street area, and in particular Henry's and The Living Room.
Have fun, Leeds is a great city, I only came here for a year, 4 years ago!!

I do need an indian as well, so cheers for replies, having had a look think that Akhbars will be worth a look.
Re Bars, she is 29, I am 34, something out of the ordinary, not the "chain" type o'neills, yates, etc sort of pubs, something nice where we can both go and enjoy it, ideally not miles from Park Plaza, but if it a quick cab ride, and worth going to, then thats okay too!

Aagrar is kinda new below the BBC, there are two akhbars, one on eastgate and the other on greek street, greek street seems a little less busy, as for an top end Italian there is a place out of the city centre which is on street lane, which u can't miss as there are always some top motors parked there, i think it will be a little busy this week due to some festive celebrations...enjoy

Thought I would post a follow up!!
Got back earlier on this afternoon, and I have got to say, Leeds is a brilliant place.
Shops are just as good as London (but service is much better), great night life, superb bars (Firefly in particular is spot on), and an all round top city.
Although I thought Bibi's was good, as it was a Friday night, service was a little poor, but Aagrah beneath the BBC building was really excellent.
Thanks for all your help on recommendations.
If you need any help on Norwich, let me know!!
