Ever defended yourself in court against a parking ticket?
My G/F got hit with a £30.00 fine for parking in a loading/unloading area in the town centre a few weeks ago.
The thing is, she was unloading stock into her business that is on the 1st floor of the adjacent building and because the traffic warden ( *read mini hitler) saw no activity at the car for 4 mins he issued a ticket.
I personally think that this is a bit harsh.
Ive tried writing to the Superintendent but they keep sending me back standard letters asking us to pay the fine or request a hearing at court.
Anyway back to the question, anyone successfully defended themselves, or someone else, in court?
Was it difficult and what were the circumstances??
Cheers, Stephen.

If she was in a loading/unloading bay and was actually doing that then fight the power!
Surely the fact she has a business in the vicinity would go a long way to proving it. CCTV in the building or securty footage? Long shot..but if it shows her unloading..........

IIRC - you pay your fine to the local council. When I got done (IMO incorrectly), I sent the cheque to the council with a covering letter stating why I thought they had got it wrong. Cheque returned a few days later with an apology and the fine cancelled.

If you are parked with hazards on, there is a time you can stop for if you are continously loading. I've got 5 miutes in my head but not 100%
As already stated, with her business in the same area i'm sure they'll let her off. Has she got big ****, these help also
