Bedroom radiator "ticking" Why?

Default Bedroom radiator "ticking" Why?

Just wondering, my radiator in the bedroom has started ticking every few seconds on a morning.

Wakes me up!

Im crap with plumbing but anyone know why its doing it?

more likely to be the pipes running to the rad that's doing the ticking.
It's just the rad acts like the speaker for the pipes.
Try putting a little lubricant behind the clips that hold the pipe onto the wall/skirting.

As was said, its only the pipes and radiator moving a bit as the system expands with the heat coming on. Don't worry about it.

It may just be air in the system.

Try bleeding (sp?) them.

Thanks all Will try your idea Fuzz. Just they didnt do it last year!

I did bleed them but no trapped air.

I may sleep in the kitchen to avoid any explosions

Reckon its a terrorist cell myself, better cover your room with CCTV and introduce an electronic identity card scheme for access. Never heard of anything as fanciful as expanding or contracting metal, sounds a bit suspicious to me
