Buying a title....
Should say that buying a title like Laird or Sir etc is more than a little tacky. BUT a client of mine uses his anncestors title something like Sir Clive Hammond of Kandahar....he does this as he imports cars from dubai & jordan, obviously the arabs love it up and think they are dealing with someone very important.
The main benefits he says that he nearly always gets upgraded on flights (to first or business) and when checking into hotels he normally gets a superior room & or suite. He reckons he has saved thousands and lived like royalty when travelling.
anyone got one ? I'm off to vegas soon and thought over there they would also love it if they thought someone important was turning up.

you might pick one up on ebay
p.s. - You can't actually legally buy a title other than one for a Scottish baron

My grandfather is a KBE (Sir...), its not hereditary he got it for services to industry. I think using a title which you haven't earned or legally inherited is a bit vulgar personally.

You can do it by saying 'I would like to buy a first class ticket please'
