enjoy it mate
I got hitched in June and it was the best day of my life!!
everything went great (apart from the vicar being a ******** and not asking her Dad "Who gives this woman...." and leaving him stood there next to her like a lemon and also rushing her down the aisle saying "keep up!" )

Good luck mate ......
At least you don't have the added nerves of a 26 hour flight to get you there (Not overly keen on this flying lark !!)
Then again, the nerves about flying probably offset by no nerves on the day because none of my family were there.... Result !
PS Just make sure you enjoy it as the day flies by.....it'll be over all too quick. Spend as much time with your wife as possible rather than speaking to old uncle Billy and Auntie Nancy who you probably haven't seen for 20 years and are unlikely to ever see again
It's your day ... so enjoy ............ and remember to breathe if you think you're going to pass out

most do have a tear in the eye, them who are standing up & also those sitting down so no need to feel embarassed - they wont think twice about it, apart from "Ahhhh bless" then start blubbering themselves....
Good Luck & Congratulations

Congrats!!!
One of the best parts of the whole day is the trip from the church to the reception - it's the only time the two of you are alone together (apart from the driver!)
By the time you get to your room at the end of the day you'll probably be too knackered to do anything other than fall asleep!
Relax as much as you can and enjoy the day!

Thanks everyone - It is my worry that I will be so nervous I will not enjoy it. I will try my best!!!!!
I didnt think it was so bad until the vicar said now you have to turn to each other and do all the I take you to be my wife etc.
I thought at least if you have your back to everyone they dont know you have tears in your eyes - or streaming down my face!!!!!

1) Get her name right when saying your vows
2) Don't use the family gathering as an opportunity to tell your mother in law what you really think about her!
3) Compliment and thank everyone!
4) Don't let the best man drink too much before the speech! UNless you want to hear the joke about him thinking that it was going to work out between you and your first gf...... till you over-inflated her!
5) Any old biddies leaving the reception hall with flowers, table pieces, other souvenirs may legitmately be shot on sight. " I don't care if it is pretty, Come back with my life savings you old cow!!"
6) Give me first dibs on seeing the honeymoon vid
AND MOST IMPORTANTLY:
7) Don't listen to any advice you get on here!!!
All the best!
Have fun!

Always invite large amounts of security to the wedding. Nothing makes the in-laws understand the game plan than having twenty skin headed, leather jacket, black shades wearing heavies with earpeices in moving amongst the crowd.
Doesn't detract from the wonderful service, but makes sure the kids don't fall in the cake, relatives shut up when told, gifts aren't stolen etc etc. A few secret service agents to escort you down the steps through the confetti throwing also looks good on photos.

Good luck! The day will fly by at a million miles an hour, make sure you give yourself a chance to take it all in!
If you're going to blub, make sure you have a hanky, and carry one for the wife too

If you really want to get wound up, make sure your wife gets to the church half an hour late like mine did - photographers fault messing about taking pics at her house before she left - the vicar had something else to do, so was taking his robes and stuff off and was ready to leave ( shortly before my wifes stepfather went and had a quite word with him ! ).
Its true what people say, it does all go past in a blur and you wont remember any of it the next day - I've watched the video and still cant remember half of it happening.
DONT go out on the lash the night before - you really dont want to puke in the church !
Best part of the day was the best mans speech though, he was so nervous his hands were shaking and he couldnt read out the cards from people - also made loads of dodgy references to internet **** in his speech which we all found hilarious but some of the older relatveis were giving him filthy looks.
Dont expect the wedding night to be a passion-fest we were both so knackered getting into the bed was about all we could manage.

Enjoy mate - best piece of advice I was given was to take 5 mins to stand back and watch your family & friends enjoying the day, otherwise the next morning you will both struggle to remember what happened you will be so knackered and over whlemed.
Me and my missus just kept having a quiet 5 mins every hour or so watching everyone enjoying themselves and I can honestly say it was great to see everybody enjoying our special day.
Have you rehearsed your speach - whatever you do don't forget to pay the missus one or two compliments, and don't worry if you don't get to say hello to everbody thats been invited they will be to busy enjoying themselves!!
Don't worry about money either, you will have so many drinks bought for you it will be coming out of your ears.
Relax, take 5 now and again, pace your self and you will be fine.
Paul
I had a couple of drinks (vodka) in a quiet local to settle my nerves prior to arriving at the church, worked a treat.

Cheers for all your good luck and advice. I am getting really nervous now - 2 pm tommorrow!!!!!!!
I will be having a few beers tonight and may have one or two shots of something in the morning.
I have been to the hotel and dropped off a bottle of champagne for them to put in the room.
I have not really rehearsed my speach a lot - I only wrote it last night. The thing is though I cant go soppy like some of the ones I have looked at so I am just going to say the wife looks gorgeous - Not I love her so much blah blah blah - I think its a bit far and I consider it private anyway. Hopefully I will be able to do the speach without tears.
Again thank you all for your kind commets.
