If/when it gets here, and if/when it mutates, I'd trust this governemnet to deal with it..............NOT.

If it's owt like the ****-ups over BSE and Foot and Mouth, we've had it!

More likely than a bird flu pandemic I reckon .

We more likely to die from American Nuking the wrong part of the world - there aren't any small villages in the Cotswolds that sound like IRAN are there

Supposed to be every 30/40 years then a pandemic outbreak occurs.
Just waiting I suppose but loads of it is media hype, just like BSE/CJD, flesh eating bug, MRSA which has been about for at least 20 years

Maybe we'll die from lumps of frozen H5N1 infected birds falling on our head.

They are now only claming confidence of it being correct at 66%. By the end of November I suspect that will have diminished yet further and by March 2006 we'll all be wondering what the hell they were on about. Suspect we'll get a few nights in to double minus figures, but not much more.

I live near a wild life wetland area and a flock of dodgy looking foreign geese flew in yesterday. I am sure one of them was coughing........

Just pray it does not mutate.

How will you blokes who say it will weed out the frailer members of the community feel if it gets you as well? No one is immune so far.

Wonderful to see that they have ensured they have enough anti viral treatment for all the MP's and Councillors of course.

All those pervs that sh@g chickens must be worried!!

Maybe the Avian flu will only mutate into a 'Get the Chavs' strain

Maybe that 70's BBC program Survivors about the aftermath of a Flu pandemic was a true vision after all!! (oops - showing my age but still not as old as PS Lewis)

Yes, but in its current form it cannot be transmitted from human to human. The scaremongering is centred around what it will do when/if it finds an infection path between humans.
