Who else lives with 9 points..............
just had NIP for 37 in a 30,pretty sure it was franchised out white van man. Have 2 ( in 2 days ) from 2 years ago ...so 1 more,in the next 18 months...(a blip of the throttle, whilst distracted by a passenger etc) and its good bye license for a year, presumably. This isnt in scooby either - had scooby for a year and can vouch for breaking ever speeding limit around.!!!
Its pure backdoor taxation im dam sure of it.....i suppose if we all spend 300 quid on a road angel that will prop up the economy for a while....

Bad luck.
One of my colleagues is on nine and says its a nightmare!
You may aswell take this last one to court, even if you change your mind and plead guilty in the end, just to make sure the scamera partnership doesn't get the money. If everyone did this then the system would fold!

Not neccessarily a ban, I had 9 and got gatso'd for going through a cheeky red light. Declared on the NIP that I would be going to court, went to court, explained I needed my licence for my job/wobbled bottom lip a bit, and got the points, but kept licence on a suspended 1 yr ban.

If you get 3 more points you have NO choice but to go to court. You do NOT get offered a fixed penalty when you have 9 points already.
You will only get away from losing your license if you can PROVE you need the car for work or to take your sick granny to hospital etc. This means your boss needs to write a letter or something.
If you get 12 points its an automatic 6 month ban, you will not need to resit (unless the court ADD this as well for something dodgy you were doing).
After 6 points, it's back to 0 points, although the convictions are still on your license to bump up your insurance.
I just finished my ban last week.

I've got 9 points, and have had for 18 months now - absolute nightmare, particularly when driving 200 miles up the M1 every week and being overtaken by caravans and big lorries
Invest in a Road Angel - if nothing else it is a constant reminder to keep within the limit (mine's unplugged most of the time, coz the noise it makes was about to give me a mental breakdown).

Taking your points in turn:-
1. You should be banned NOW then!! Driving like a ***** has NEVER been cool, NEVER been clever and NEVER extracted any sympathy from those with a brain!!
2. If you wish to call it a tax, then fair enough - BUT, it's an OPTIONAL tax!! You don't have to pay it!!!!! If you do then you are stupid (to put it mildly!)
3. Why should people who are NOT criminals buy something to try to avoid detection .... you waste your money if you want to!!

You don't need Radar 'DickTectors' and other expensive waste-of-money gadgets
All you need is to be able to drive properly ......... a skill lacking with those under 40, for some reason??
3 Points, ok - unlucky?
6 Points, ooooops - didn't learn your lesson did you?
9 Points, now you are showing yourself up as a complete and utter idiot
12 Points, what can I say?? You are a zero and need to be removed from the roads
Seems VERY fair to me!!
STOP SPEEDING!!!

Blah blah blah Mr Lewis..... The way you go on you've never even gone over 30 MPH or broken any law ever !
From experience they dont give a **** who takes the points, they dont even ask for insurance if you say someone else was driving, all they care about is the £60.
A m8 did it when he had 6 points, £250 well spent me thinks
