Whats the disadvantage of buying a stolen/recovered car?
Im looking at buying a car soon when I change jobs, and a few cars Ive looked at for sale have been stolen recovered.
These seem to be a bit cheaper, and they dont get Q-plates anymore, so what is the disadvantage? (other than having been properly thrashed?!)

They still get q plates- but only if they cant determine the original identity of the car
I seem to remember you cant get anything more than 3rd party insurance on them- at least that is what i was told when i got a quote on one from a large insurance company when i I was looking to buy a a s/rec a few years back.

You also have no idea what the thieving, **** scumbags got up to whilst they had the car.
You might buy cheap but it'll be worth a round of drinks when you come to move it on if you can sell it at all.

virtually everything said above is bull.
I have had 2 stolen recovered vehicles in the past and I am driving one at the minute, its fully comp insured, and I have had no problem selling, you just have to be honest.
to be fair I didnt know the one I have at the minute was stolen recovered, but thats my own fault for not hpi ing it straight away.
