Home cinema
Looking at setting one of these up in the next few weeks and was looking for some advice/comments/thoughts.
Pretty settled on the TV side of things - a Panasonic 42" HD Viera plasma and HD set top box I reckon - but not so sure on the dvd/audio side of things. I already have a DVD recorder that may do for now though I'd be looking for something with HDMI. Any recommendations on that front?
I am wanting an AV receiver and speaker setup that can handle Dolby 6.1, DTS etc (Not sure about THX, is it worth the extra?) but is also good for pure audio. With a budget of about £1500 (AUD3500-ish) can anyone offer any suggestions and is there a rule of thumb regarding the proportion of spend on amp and speakers?
Does anyone have thoughts on ceiling mounted rear speakers?
If it helps the room's 4.5m x 4.8m.
TIA
Mark
