Yep, i've heard them, and seen, although not heard, the WAMM.
If i'm brutally honest, i don't think these speakers can do anything that a well-chosen pair of "ordinary" speakers in the £5k-£10k bracket can't. It's a bit like wine - spend ten quid and you get a bottle that suits your palette and does everything you want it to do. Spend £100, and you have to be in *just* the right mood to appreciate its subtly better balance etc etc. Same with speakers. The difference, after about £10k, is all about personal preference, compatibility, aesthetics etc rather than outright performance. But there are many people who don't believe they've got the best unless they've spent the maximum amount possible, so speakers like these continue to find new homes.

Yes, they are good. However as Telboy points out they do cost a lot. You would need to spend similar amounts of money on amplification to get the best out of them.
For less money the B & W 800 series are very good. ATC make very good speakers. Both brands are British I believe. As always you pay over the odds for top end US equipment.

B&W 800 *are* good, but incredibly fussy about which amps you partner them with. I know, i've just sold a pair. B&W and Chord don't mix, be warned!

I'm most surprised considering your appreciation of the finer things.
Some of us revel in these things.

cost wise they are in another league,
it would be nice to hear them, just to see if they are as good as they say,
personally i agree its all about personal taste,
I currently run Tannoy Dc,s imho i havent found anything that provides the same performance,
no doubt there may or are better items out there,
esoteric or not!!
