Don't usually bother with rockets, I find you get more 'bang for your buck' with proper multiple mortars

Did you know...

Firework size is inversely proportional to the brain sizes of those letting them off?

There's a time and a place for fireworks. And that's deep in a welsh forest on a freezing november night, whilst cooking food on an open fire and drinking beers waiting for WRGB to start.

Roll on 2006

That was a typographical spelling mistake, not an error of grammar.

So your stones/glass houses comment is wholly innapropriate.

No, fireworks and forests do not mix.

Mortars are NOT for sale to the general public and are for professional use only!

You can legally buy some serious rockets but please leave the shells and mortars to those who are trained and insured to use them!

Either last year or the year before (I cant remember which) they changed the law so the general public couldnt buy the really big fireworks. Luckerly my friend has a chain of stores that sells them and had to give loads of the big ones to me as well as all the big rockets that had broken sticks.

One of the fireworks retailed for over £100 it looked like a case of 24 cans of stella but made up of about 60ish tubes. **** me it scared the life out of me and went off for about 10 minutes firing ***** of coloured fire high in to the air making huge bangs, much better than any rocket!

Shell's hav'n't been legally available for over 5 years. Broken, damaged or tampered with fireworks are extremely dangerous and are automatically classified as Cat.3 explosives! They are therefore ILLEGAL for public use!

What you refer to are called 'Cakes' in the trade and are excellent for a long 'fill in' during a display (usually several of the same type spread across the display area and fired together).

The ones you can legally buy will give you the safest, most spectacular displays and some are actually mini shells

You get's what you pays for though, so whatever your budget, get the most expensive ones you can, then you will not be dissapointed

And, above all, be safe! Read the instructions carefully, keep a safe distance and don't prat about with fireworks, especially if you've been drinking! (lesson over)

I think you will find that once you have duck taped a bamboo stick on to the broken ones they work perfectly
