Night Watch
Has anybody seen this movie yet??
It is supposed to rival The Matrix, it is Russian made, with a Russian cast and is set in Moscow. It's about the fight between Night and Day. I've seen the trailers on the SciFi channel and it looks very good.
Anybody seen it?

I thought a friend was on about the Book by Alistair Mclean and the film with Mr Brosnan in, untill she explained.

Its a little Matrix and a little Lord of Rings - sort of anyway.
There are night people and day people. All of which have varying supernatural skills (Vampires, Werewolf, Shapeshifters etc). Some are good (Day people/Night Watch) some are bad (Night people)
They agree to a truce as the balance of power is equal and allow thier kind to make a choice which side they want to be on - no one is forced to night or day. However, things appear to go pear shaped when "The one" or Uber supernatural person turns up and I think its not clear which side they end up on.
Thats the gist I got from the first 5 mins. Will watch all of it tonight.

I started this thread in September 2005 and got no response at all, now over 7 months later a flurry of replies!!!

Nightwatch only cost $4 million to make and used a lot of home PCs to do all the special effects and took more in the Russian box office than spiderman 2.They have released the second movie Daywatch in january in russia and are planning to do the last movie for the same time next year.
Yes its good but don't expect it to be like US action movies

I waited and waited for this to be shown at the cinema and it never was. It's on my list of dvds in my online rental subscription so should see it soon.
