Default electrical geeks - powering a USB device via 240v!

I want to run a USB fan of the mains

its this one:

can it be done- and if i want to run two at once (of the same mains wire) how do i do that?

Why (guesses fish tank cooling)? OK not sure if this is quite what you want, but you can by a multi (4) port mains powered USB hub and run up to 4 fans off that. That's probably the easiest.

If my guess is right, have a look in Lidl - they did 12V car fans for peanuts recently and you can pick up various transformers to mess with from Maplin.

sorted ....got a usb hub from maplins that has mains power!

and yes- its to pass air under metal halide lamps over the tank

Ah-ha!! Have a look at http://www.ultimatereef.net, DIY section in particular, lots of handy tips! Some interesting stuff on Auto Top up and some cheap float switches off e-bay!!
