I'm on the same British Gas Homecare contract paying £20.20 per month. I'm just about to review it as I've just renewed my Home contents & buildings insurance which includes Home Assistance @ £9.99 for the whole year!!!!!

This covers home emergencies like burst pipes, blocked drains, electrical faults, heating & hot water supply problems. So the only thing I'd need to cover is an annual service on my heating system which defo won't cost me the equivalent of 12x£20.20-£9.99 = £232.41!!!!

I would be grateful if you could all carry on paying for the British Gas Service Cover. This is because I have it and since moving last year I have had Britisg Gas out to my combi boiler to fix it on 5 different occasions, and each fixing has involved 2 trips. The latest fixing 6 weeks ago we had heating (it was hot then) and no hot water.

They are coming on Wednesday for the annual service however we now have no control over the hot water temperature (its on maximum irrespective of the setting) and the heating doesn't work. So I suspect several more trips.

This is of course all covered by the service care contract at no additional charge to me. However I do need lots of people to subsidise my cover so please don't desert British Gas!
