Where to stay OUTSIDE Birmingham.
Wife wants a short break, (Fri-Sun) in the Black Country, and fancies an olde worlde type hotel/inn.
Needs to be reachable by road, so we can go into Brum on the saturday, (pref by rail), and look around some museums, etc on sunday.
Any recommendations?
TIA

Nooooooooooo dont do it!!!! Its crap here
Honestly though I cant really think of one place I’d want to visit in the black country it's well depressing. Maybe you’d be better going to Stratford it’s in travelling distance of Brum and much nicer than it is here.

Try Ironbridge maybe - otherwise try Warwickshire - Stratford, Kenilworth or Warwick.... Trains might not be the easiest option though

You can easily spend a whole day at the Black Country Living Museum, so don't try and rush things.
But sorry, can't help on the hotel side
