Some of you may remember my car was hit whilst stationary almost two months ago. The police were on scene, it turns out, helping a scaffold lorry manouvre which sat on my car! There were no notes left on my car, and this was told to me by a witness. The police on scene did not report the incident. The driver didn't leave details. The car has been in the garage for 7 weeks and they can't find a wheel to replace my damaged wheel.

This is a pic of my wheel, they were on when I got the car so don't know model and can't see as car is in shop. Does anyone recognise this wheel, have a spare to sell or know where to look? Apparently the insurance will not give me a new set if they can't find a replacement, just put the space saver on, give me the cost of the wheel and tell me to poke it.

Does anyone know my rights regarding the insurance company, please?

How long can they take, is there a cut off point? Can I negotiate on my excess due to poor service, length of time? Really, really getting to me, stuck in a Nissan hire car, plus I am emigrating in two weeks so really have to get the car back, then sold, with no time to enjoy it!
