Got one over on the foreman?
Every couple of months or so i get booked (in the office, telling off) for either being too slow (the usual) or occasionally its workmanship (usually down to rushing because ive being going too slow!) Theres worse people than me by the way! That first sentance doesnt make me look too good! Or if theres not alot of work on they start cracking down and bollocking people, usually the same 2 people, me being one! After a couple of incidents the union rep suggested i kept a log of everything that happens during the week, mainly to cover my back as they always leave it months before saying anything by which time you cant defend yourself as you cant even remember the job theyre referring to! So ive being doing this for 6 months and so far nothings been said.
Today i gave the union rep my weekly report and he told me the foreman had had a word with him about me and that i was due a bollocking(supposedly for taking too long on a job that 2 of us were doing), that was until he showed him the reports ive being making every week. Apparently his face dropped and he said ok but i want a copy!

Welder, we get times for each job and have to fill in downtime sheets for everytime something stops us from getting on with our work.

What sort of welding do you do?
Going through a similar thing myself i'd say keeping a record is a good thing and stand up to him.Does anyone else feel the same as you,if so get them to do the same or put in a complaint. You need witnesses and examples of harrasment.
Easy to say i know, but you have to stand up to these people.
Alternatively weld up his ball joints.........

Just come home as im not feeling well. The foreman said it was my call wether i went or not as i said i didnt wanna be seen to be taking ****. I asked the union guy to confirm what he meant by this as if im getting a bollocking when i get back id rather struggle on. He said i wouldnt but he said be warned that youre treading a very fine line and that my record is bad and that it doesnt look good. I said it seems im getting singled out, he agreed but said he couldnt discuss anyone else with me. I asked if theres much point me writing everything down then, he said its probably the only thing thats helping me!
best get looking for new job.
