Default A Beautiful Mind?

I watched this last night and it was a pretty good film, but I don't understand why everyone was raving about it.

Did I miss something?

It was no more than OK.

Agree with the "why rave about it".

Must have been a load of girly critics - they'd have loved all that gooey Love stuff

I thought it was one of the best films I'd seen in a while. I knew nothing about it (or John Nash) before I watched it - the point at which you find out that half of his life is imagined was pretty powerful.

Can't have been too bad or i'd have turned off when the news started.

Fully agree, superbly acted and I'm not a great fan of Russell Crowe

I thought it was bloody good, powerful, moving and a fine bit of acting by the fat aussie.

Not for the stupid or restless, need to follow it fairly closely.

Top film - ony watched it last night because I was bored, but thought it was really good - probably one of Crowes best acting roles and a lot more challenging than shouting in an arena, or shouting on a ship, which is pretty much all he ever does now.

Thought it was good that it didnt have a happy ending - even though it did in a way, but he was still a nutter.

Did remember reading when it came out that there are loads of little giveaway things in the first half of the film that point to all the imaginary bits ( something like the uniforms of the soldiers being wrong for the year and that sort of thing ).

Great film. But why do they have to put the news in the way

we watched it too...

I had no idea what it was about and at the start I didn't think I'd make it past the news... but as the truth became clear I was hooked.

Certainly made me think about the way the mind of someone with schizophrenia works.

Sentimental, dreadful, and dreadfully dull. Russell Crowe off-form. Instantly forgettable.
