Oil futures
Does anyone know if oil prices went up after the Tsunami seems like it might be worth buying an oil contract after every disaster in the likely hood that the price of oil goes up. You could almost do the reverse about now an assume that the prices will fall after these sharp rises but how do you go short if you don't already have any contracts and you don't use a spread betting company.

From other sites I've visited I think oil can be "messy" stuff to bet/trade in.
Iirc there are only about four oil trading companies.
The danger is, what you going to do if you have to take delivery?
Cast around the investment forums to see if you can pick up any clues.
An FAO Telboy might help.
All above imho and I am not in any way qualified to offer any sort of financial advice.
There's some who would say any advice on anything!

I'm buying shares on Monday in an oil company. According to the FT, it was overlooked a while back as a good investment. I'm not going to go mad with loads of money but just enough to watch what happens
