Ive just got my new nokia 3230 and theres something really bugging me about it.................please help if you have one

The stupid phone makes a loud beep before it plays my ringtone, and also plays a loud beep before it plays the message tone. Its getting really annoying as when I set it to meeting mode for when im sat at work its set to a really quiet beep for messages but it plays this stupid loud beep and then the quiet one!!! Ive been through the profile settings over and over and ~I cant work out whats causing it.

Does anyone else have this??? or are you reading this thinking that I have come out from a mental home???

Also I have this stupid thing called O2 active that loads up every time you turn the phone on even though its set to NOT load on start up Do i have to delete it to stop this????

thank you very much
it appears that I cant fix it on normal mode however Ive now got it to not sound the beep when its on silent mode so thats good enough for me.
Seems a bit of a weird feature to add to the phone.
Also I removed O2 active so that doesnt bother me anymore
