anyone know why switzerland is the richest country in the world?
Read it last week in a magazine.
Cant seem to beleive that switzerland is richer than america, saudi arabia etc

They have half a percent unemployment and have done for years. They have no national debt, or very little. The cost of living is so high that only the wealthy can afford to live there

Pretty sure its defined as GDP/population.
I think one of the reasons theyre so rich is unlike European countries they dont lots of immigrants for example, and dont involve themselves in expensive wars etc.

Switzerlan has the most guns per person in the world.

2. They never wasted money on an army / wars.
3. The people have a good work ethic, people WANT TO WORK (shock !)
4. Relatively low taxation encourages business to invest there (see #1)
5. **** gold.
I lived there for 4 yrs and some silly laws aside, it's a great clean place to live.
